I hate moving!! Were doing it again but at least it is just to a bigger and better house. The one were in is a dump and the one were getting is not! I can't wait because it is an older home and has so much potential. Plus I get to have all of these cool built ins to think of what I can put in them. We did sign a lease on this one and hopefully the next time we move we can buy it. I was also wondering if anyone knew how to fix your credit and could give me some tips.

A mortgage broker that I know said to go join a credit union. Then do the following:
1. Take your paycheck to the credit union and ask for a Shared Secured Loan. Basically, they will give you a loan for the amount of the money you deposit into a savings account with them. You walk out with the money you left and then you make payments to them with a little interest. It reports to the credit bureau as a regular signature loan. It is a paper trail that increases your credit score.
2. Do a couple of the shared secured loans.
3. Get a secured credit card from the credit union too. You will have an available balance equal to however much $$ you give them to secure it. Don't spend more than 1/2 of the available balance.
4. Make all your payments on time or early - not a single day late. Set up auto payments if you can
5. Your goal is to get your credit score to at least 620 for a FHA loan or any decent loan.
If you do all this now, you'll see a difference by the end of summer and may be ready to buy by Christmas.
